2006 Writers' Conference - September 11-15

Make the beautiful fall season a springboard to meet your writing goals. Our staff, along with guest instructors, editors and publishers, will give you the information, inspiration and one-on-one conferences necessary to help you become a published writer. Personal attention has made Maranatha Christian Writers' Conference a favorite of novice and experienced writers for almost 30 years.

Our Instructors

Dick Bohrer:
The Paul Tell, Jr. Foundation enables us to enjoy and profit from the excellent teaching of Professor Bohrer.  He has taught at Liberty University, Multnomah Bible College, and was the editor of Moody Magazine.  He has authored many books.  Dick will share on how to turn your life into stories for kids.

Leona Hertel:
Former editor for Radio Bible Class, Leona has been published in many Christian magazines and has written, compiled, and edited a number of books.  She will present a potpourri of practical studies for the Christian author.

Verna Kokmeyer:
Verna?s background is in speech and drama.  She has written devotions, dramatic sketches and authored books of object lessons.  She will help us turn ideas into writing ministry.

Jack Metzler:
Jack is no stranger to the Maranatha Christian Writers Conference.  He once came as a student.  Since then he has authored several books.  His presentations will feature how to write page turning fiction.

Writers Conference Dates:  September 11-15, 2006

Tuition for this event is $200 ($25 discount for registering by August 1)  Lodging Rates are $255 for Double Occupancy,  $310 for single Occupancy.   Register through the Maranatha reservations department  at: 231-798-2161. 


Tuition includes all sessions and one-on-one conferences with the instructors and guest editors. You also will receive a valuable collection of guidelines and samples from publishers looking for your material.

Contact Maranatha for discounted housing and meal packages. There will be a conference fee for those not staying on the Maranatha grounds. Mail this form, or call Maranatha to make your reservation.
